Normally, our children-only classes on the elementary level meet 10-15 times a year in the school building from 8:45 - 9:55 am. Our volunteer teachers use Loyola Press' Finding God series as a basis for the implementation of the curriculum outlined by our Diocese and, supplement it with teacher-created activities. The teachers are encouraged to facilitate Christian service activities with their classes throughout the year. The elementary age students and their families are also expected to attend our intergenerational events.
However, for the 2020-21 school year, to help ensure the safety of all members of our community while still supporting families in their efforts to catechize their children, we are using Pflaum's Gospel Weeklies program. This program can be done digitally or paper version and follows the Sunday gospels. We found this program was the best to meet the needs for our families. The program has 5 different age-appropriate editions so students in grades K & 1 will use Promise, students in grade 3 will use the Good News & students in grades 4&5 will use Venture; but the basic message of the Sunday gospel will remain the same throughout the levels. Please see below for information regarding this program for grades K, 1, 3-5.
You do not have to log in - simply scroll down and click on the resource you are looking for OR you may click on a link below. You may submit all assessments to Ms. Peplowski at materchristireligioused@gmail.com. The unit assessments are the only ones required to complete. However, I do find it helpful for the older students to complete the weekly assessments to keep them engaged & feel a sense of accountability.
